Laurie Drill-Mellum, MD, to Speak at December 4 Bounce Back Conference in Minneapolis, MN

On Wednesday, December 4 at 2:45pm, Laurie Drill-Mellum, MD, chief medical officer at Constellation, will speak at the Bounce Back Project’s Healthcare Provider Resilience Conference. The theme of the conference is “Moving from Surviving to Thriving,” and Dr. Drill-Mellum’s talk is entitled “Mindful Connecting for Personal Health.” This break-out session highlights how intention, attention and attitude shapes experience and their powerful effect on the brain, health and relationships when practiced consistently. Participants will learn practical techniques and have an opportunity to practice them, ultimately gaining perspective on relationship challenges and opportunities for self-care.

With over 30 years of experience as a practicing physician, Dr. Drill-Mellum helps guide Constellation’s work of supporting health care organizations in order to free clinicians to focus on serving their patients. She speaks on health care topics such as clinician burnout and resilience, team communication, incivility and diagnostic error. Her role as chief medical officer provides an opportunity to share what she’s learned about people and medical culture through her medical practice and studies of anthropology, behavior, public health, emergency medicine, integrative medicine and leadership.
